1931...........Club was formed at Luton Cooperative Society Cocoa Works. Arrangements were put in place to lay a green on the company sports ground. Annual Subscriptions were set at 2/6d.
1937.....Sports ground was sold for redevelopment Club moved matches to Wardown Park. At the AGM it was proposed that “the A & S C Club be approached in regard to having the woods re-varnished”.
1938.................Proposal to change name to Luton Cocoaworks B C was defeated.
1948..Name was changed to Wardown Park Bowls Club
1978.The first tenants at Ashcroft Road Recreation Ground were Stopsley W M C Bowls Club disbanded due to low membership.They had been in existence since the green was constructed by L B Council soon after the second world war.
1979...Due to the poor state of the Wardown Park Greens it was decided to move the club to Ashcroft Recreation Ground.Ex members of Stopsley W M B C joining them.
1985...Luton Airport Bowls Club to share facilities. Name changed to” Wardown Bowls Club”
1988....Name changed to Ashcroft Bowling Club.
